Rave Ride

Can you believe this? December 17th and I was able to ride 30 miles today...outside!! What's also hard to believe is that I had to talk each one of my friends into riding along. What's up with that?

First, it was Kevin. It was his idea yesterday to "do something" today because of the forecast. When I called him at 11:45 am, he made up some lame excuse about eating lunch and his bride having to play soccer at 3pm. Only a small amount of arm twisting was required.

Next, there was Jimbo. Always reliable Jim. Reliable in that he's always willing to suggest something else to do. This time, he was okay with the idea of a ride, but I had to convince him he wouldn't be too cold...I even told him I wasn't planning to wear my toe warmers, which proved to be a mistake. My toes were cold, but we rode in solidarity - frozen toes and all.

Philly boy just needs some motivation - in addition to the thought of reaching his maximum number of "maybe next time" responses to my invites. I love peer pressure!!

It was a great ride. Nice, easy pace with a few of my best friends. Good conversation and exercise for added measure.

I can't wait for the next ride!!
