Recovery...Day Two

Boy, am I glad day one is over. Holy Moly! I have never experienced such pain. My proposal for universal health care would require post-surgical anesthesiologist visits for at least two days.

I slept about two hours the night after surgery...the next day, there was not enough Vicodin to take the edge off the pain...I was hurting all day long.

Last night, however, I was able to get a full night's rest. The only pain I have now is when I suddenly change positions with my leg. Even then, the pain is sharp, but short. We're going to go for ice cream tonight!

Payin' More Than A Visit

During our trip to our Nation's Capital, I thought I'd stop by and save the cost of a stamp...

WE MADE IT!

First off, the Garmin GPS unit for the car - complete with voice commands for turns, etc. - is the SHIZZO! It basically takes the thinking out of navigation...I highly recommend it to anyone who travels by car.

Well, it wasn't fun, but we made it to Alexandria, VA by 6:30 this evening. Emily have a rough first half of the trip (about 11 hours total) puking 3 times. She had a few sips of water for the full ride...that's IT! What a trooper!

We took some pix through the mountains and will post a few tomorrow sometime. We ate at Applebee's tonight, and without the GPS, we would have surely gotten lost on the way back to the hotel. Did I mention that thing is freakin' awesome?!

We're very tired and will take our time in the AM. We'll be here for 4 full days...no need to rush everything into one day.

Stay tuned...
